2 Broke Girls
When I want to take a break from my horror series, I think it's great to watch a season of 2 Broke Girls. Watching this show with its light-hearted humour is a great way for my brain to relax.
A lot is going on in this fourth season, but at the same time nothing happens. This is a great achievement, making a lot of things happen without overwhelming the viewer.
In this season Max and Caroline's cupcake business is put on the back burner again. They are starting to realise it's a difficult business and it takes a lot to establish it. They try to launch a new business, beside the cupcake business and both start a new job. This makes a welcome change and of course causes some tension, because it doesn't go smoothly. Working at the diner becomes more of a second job, but still a very steady job. After their experiences during the day, it's like coming home when they enter the diner in the evening.
There are some new parts, but there seem to be no new regular parts. After season three, I started to notice that not many new parts are added to the show. Do you remember Luis from season three? The gay employee at the diner with his great jokes. I expected him to return, but there is no sign of him in season four. Of course they must have a very good reason for this and it's probably not easy to add people to a successful cast.
Caroline's love life is just like their cupcake business on the back burner, with just a date or two. Max has some more success, but hasn't found true love either. On the one hand, it's a bit of a shame, but on the other hand, love can cause too much drama. Fortunately, the love between Oleg and Sophie is still there! Their relationship is changing and I'm curious to see how it will develop, because they both have some issues. The great thing is that you can see they are crazy about each other and their love will conquer all!
Han, our favourite miniature boss, is standing up for himself, to everybody's amazement, including himself. The funny thing with Han is that I can see him struggle not to laugh when Max makes one of her jokes at his expense. So her insulting jokes are apparently not that insulting.
I love deleted scenes and bloopers and fortunately they are also included on the DVD. It's funny to see when Earl is having trouble with his lines, he starts to talk gibberish. In one of the bloopers my suspicion is confirmed: Han is laughing the hardest of them all about the jokes at his expense.
I'm curious to see what will happen in season five, because I think the show is coming to an end.
Of course they can also drag it out for ages, so it could go either way. Maybe Max and Caroline will become successful or will that be the end of the series? Then it won't be 2 Broke Girls any more. The show is based on their setbacks, so I don't expect them to become successful. Unless the show ends, then it could be a great ending to the show.
