3 Body Problem is the story of humanity's first contact with an alien civilization.
The series follows a young woman whose fateful decision in 1960s China continues through space and time into the present. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a tight-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with a tough detective to confront the greatest threat in human history.

Oscar-nominated director Derek Tsang (Shaonian de ni/Better Days) is one of the directors for the series.
Benioff and Weiss serve as showrunners and executive producers. Woo co-created the series with Benioff and Weiss and serves as executive producer and writer.
Executive producers are Bernadette Caulfield, Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Lin Qi, Zhao Jilong and Brad Pitt, and Dede Gardner's Plan B Entertainment and Jeremy Kleiner's company along with Rosamund Pike and Robie Uniacke for Primitive Streak.
