Season five of 9-1-1: Lone Star goes off the rails in promo for possible final season

9-1-1: Lone Star returns this fall for its fifth and possibly final season.

Fox's first promo shows how things spiral out of control for first responders in Austin, Texas. The start of season five features a massive train derailment and a bomb attack.

9-1-1: Lone Star

Rob Lowe, Gina Torres, Ronen Rubinstein, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Rafael Silva, Julian Works and Brianna Baker star in the Fox series, which follows the first responders of Station 126. Sierra McClain left the series after four seasons.

While there has been no official confirmation from the network or studio that 9-1-1: Lone Star is being canceled, the cast members consider season five to be the final season and are actively looking for other work. Their contracts expire on July 19 and the 20th Television studio (now owned by Disney) has reportedly shown no interest in renewing.

The cast hasn't been officially released yet — as we noted, their options don't expire until July 19 — so if they book a new series regular role, they'll have to ask for a waiver from 9-1-1: Lone Star to get that to take.

The exact start date for season five of 9-1-1: Lone Star has not yet been announced. The preview is below.
