New recurring character cast for seventh season of 9-1-1

Rick Cosnett joins the upcoming seventh season of 9-1-1 in a key recurring role.
The new season, the first on ABC after being canceled by Fox, is set on a cruise ship with harrowing experiences ahead.

A recently released teaser trailer (you can watch it below this news story) gives us a glimpse of what's in store. Athena (Angela Bassett) and Bobby (Peter Krause) have boarded a cruise ship for a secret honeymoon in the season six finale and find themselves at the center of the action when terrorists take over their ship.

Cosnett (pictured) guest stars in a major role as charismatic cruise director Julian Enes.

The actor is known for his series roles as Eddie Thawne and Cobalt Blue in The Flash (2014), Elias Harper in Quantico and Dr. Wes Maxfield in The Vampire Diaries. He will soon be seen in the Apple TV series Palm Royale.

According to the premiere episode description: "Athena and Bobby set off on their honeymoon, but when duty calls, their vacation is postponed. Meanwhile, a fighter plane hits a civilian and an unusual incident leaves a couple stuck together."

The series also stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, Oliver Stark as Evan "Buck" Buckley, Kenneth Choi as Howie "Chimney" Han, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta "Hen" Wilson, Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz and Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz.

9-1-1 was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear. Alexis Martin Woodall, Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, John J. Gray, Kristen Reidel and Juan Carlos Coto also serve as executive producers.

The series is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision.
