9-1-1 casts Malcolm Jamal-Warner in a recurring role

9-1-1 is visited by Malcolm-Jamal Warner in a recurring role for a few episodes.

Warner (pictured below) will appear in four upcoming episodes as Amir, a nurse in a hospital burn unit who is connected to Bobby's past.



9-1-1 is currently in its seventh season, the first to air on ABC after the series moved from Fox. The season seven premiere episode drew 11.76 million viewers in its first seven days. It was also the most-watched multiplatform broadcast of the series in nearly two years in the 18-49 demo.

According to Disney, it is currently ABC's most-watched series across all platforms this season. On the day after its debut on ABC, 9-1-1 managed to deliver its most streamed day ever on Hulu, with 1.6 million total hours.

9-1-1, created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, has already been renewed for season eight.

The series stars Angela Bassett as Athena Grant, Peter Krause as Bobby Nash, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, Oliver Stark as Evan 'Buck' Buckley, Kenneth Choi as Howie 'Chimney' Han, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta 'Hen' Wilson, Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz and Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz.

Bassett, Krause, John J. Gray, Brad Buecker, Kristen Reidel, Juan Carlos Coto and Lyndsey Beaulieu also executive produce. Minear is also showrunner. 9-1-1 is produced by 20th Television, a division of Disney Television Studios, in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision.

Warner was a regular on the Fox drama The Resident and on ABC's Ten Days in the Valley. He also guest-starred on the Fox anthology series Accused (US) and recently appeared in an episode of NBC's The Irrational.
