The series is an adaptation of the international bestseller of the same name by American writer Amor Towles. The story follows the fictional life of Count Rostov who defies the Soviet regime to find love, brotherhood and forgiveness.
A Gentleman in Moscow follows Count Alexander Rostov (McGregor) who, in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution, discovers that his aristocratic upbringing has placed him on the wrong side of history. He is exiled by a Soviet tribunal to an attic room in the luxurious Hotel Metropol and threatened with death if he ever sets foot outside the hotel walls again.
As some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history unfold outside the hotel, Rostov discovers a larger emotional world within himself. He builds a new life between the walls of the hotel and learns the true value of friendship, family and love.

All eight episodes can be seen weekly and exclusively on Streamz from Saturday, March 30, one day after American broadcast.
A Gentleman in Moscow is produced by Lionsgate Television in association with Paramount. Ben Vanstone is executive producer and showrunner for the series. Tom Harper will also produce alongside Ewan McGregor, Sharon Hughff, Pancho Mansfield, Xavier Marchand and the novel's author, New York Times bestselling author Amor Towles.
A number of episodes are directed by BAFTA Award-winning director and Emmy nominee Sam Miller. Other episodes were directed by Sarah O'Gorman.
