In season four, Nicholas Ralph reprises his role as the young veterinarian James Herriot, now happily married to Helen Herriot, played by Rachel Shenton (Switched at Birth). Samuel West (Slow Horses) returns as James' volatile and erratic mentor Siegfried Farnon, while Anna Madeley (Patrick Melrose) continues as Mrs. Hall, the matriarch of Skeldale House. Patricia Hodge (A Very English Scandal) also reprises her role as the wonderfully eccentric Mrs. Pumphrey, and Derek as her adored and spoiled Pekingese Tricki.
All Creatures Great and Small (2020) is a Playground production for Channel 5 and Masterpiece in collaboration with All3Media International. It returns on the same night as Miss Scarlet and the Duke, which also begins its fourth season.
In the new episodes of Miss Scarlet and the Duke, Eliza (Kate Phillips) takes over the business of Nash & Sons (not that he has any sons) and things don't go entirely smoothly, although she gets help from well-known sources. Outside of work, her relationship with William (the Duke, played by Stuart Martin) builds to a looming decision that will shape both their lives.
The fourth season of All Creatures Great and Small (2020) and the fourth season of Miss Scarlet and the Duke can be seen from Sunday, January 7. The fourth season can be seen on Channel 5 from October 5.
