Alphas cancelled

The cable network has cancelled the drama (created by Zak Penn and Michael Karnow), that tells the story of an unlikely team of ordinary people with superhuman physical and mental abilities, that takes on cases which the CIA, FBI and the Pentagon couldn't resolve.

"We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television," Syfy said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support."

The news hits months after Alphas wrapped up its second season in October with a little over 1 million viewers during the final episode. Alphas, which starred David Strathairn, started with more than the double amount of viewers (2.5 million) in July 2011.
