Netflix has decided to cancel the American science fiction series Altered Carbon. The series premiered in 2018.Last February, the eight-part second season of
Altered Carbon released on Netflix. This season was apparently also the last. Netflix has decided to not renew the series with a third season. Supposedly, the decision to cancel the series was already made back in April and was not a result of the coronavirus.
Altered Carbon was created by Laeta Kalogridis (
Birds of Prey) and is based on the book with the same name by Richard K. Morgan that released in 2002. The series takes place in the future, which features something that is close to immortality. The consciousness of someone who dies can be downloaded into new bodies.
