Next year, the old and the new gods will be brought back to life on the - not so very - small screen. And according to Neil Gaiman, the third season arrives at just the right time; "The struggles of the gods and the people in Season Three of American Gods are the struggles of America."
The third season of the series that features Ricky Whittle and Ian McShane will premiere on Starz on the 10th of January in 2021. The series is based on the bestselling award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman, who also serves as executive producer of the series.
With the former The Walking Dead executive producer Charles 'Chic' Eglee in the continuously altering showrunner seat, the ten-part third season will take the viewers to one of the calmer parts of the divine book.
Down below, you'll see the new announcement poster that doesn't just reveal the date, but also serves as a visual reference to Lakeside Clunker Board from Hinzelmann's store. And that is quite a recognizable thing to fans of the book and the series.
Starting in the ninth chapter of the novel about the struggle of the gods, Shadow Moon (Whittle) is hidden away for the new gods in a sub-zero Badger State town where mystical powers and the number of deaths seem to be increasing. Icy Lakeside and his mysteries come up at a later point in the book when the war between the old gods, who are led by Odin (McShane), and the new gods of the digital media seems to carry on.
Neil Gaiman released the following tweet;
Everything you wanted to know about when American Gods Series 3 is starting in the US. (I've seen finished cuts of the first 4 episodes and rough cuts of all of them. It's really good.) (And it starts internationally the following day.) pic.twitter.com/6YMnL9vEzn
