New trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) offers first look at Bumi, Nyla and more

Netflix has released the official trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024).

"The Fire Nation has gone down a dark path. And the world may never recover. The world needs the Avatar. It needs you, Aang."

The trailer opens with the voiceover pleading for Aang to save the world. In the video we also get our first look at Bumi, the ruler of the Earth Kingdom of Omashu played by Utkarsh Ambudkar and the creature Nyla ridden by bounty hunter June (Arden Cho).

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) is an adaptation of the award-winning and beloved Nickelodeon animated series of the same name. The series is set in a world divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation and the Air Nomads. 'Benders' are people who have the ability to telekinetically manipulate and control the element associated with their nation, using gestures based on Chinese martial arts. The 'Avatar' is the only person who can bend all four elements.

Gordon Cormier (Aang), Dallas Liu (Prince Zuko), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (General Iroh), Elizabeth Yu (Princess Azula) and Daniel Dae Kim (Fire Lord Ozai) shape the cast of the series that will be released on Thursday, February 22.

Albert Kim (Sleepy Hollow, Nikita) is showrunner, executive producer and writer. In addition to Kim, Dan Lin (Walker, Walker Independence) and Lindsey Liberatore (Walker) and Rideback's Jabbar Raisani are executive producers, as is Michael Goi (Swamp Thing (2019), American Horror Story). Goi, Roseanne Liang (also a co-executive producer), Raisani and Jet Wilkinson direct.
