The series comes from Shonda Rhimes (
Grey's Anatomy) and is based on the bestseller book series by Julia Quinn. It is the first Rhimes series to premiere as part of the deal that was made with Netflix. Chris van Dusen (
Grey's Anatomy) serves as showrunner.
