Brieven aan Andalusië

Brieven aan Andalusië is a Dutch documentaryseries which aired on VPRO. The series premiered on September 8, 2019.

Six-part, personal series by Stef Biemans who fled to southern Spain with his family because of the political unrest in Nicaragua. The country where he lived for 15 years. To get to know Andalusia better, he writes letters to the local residents. He corresponds with them about issues such as migration, poverty, religion, former dictator Franco and the importance of (in-laws) family. On the basis of these correspondence, Stef tries to get to know his provisional home base better. Parallel to the stories arising from Stef's correspondence, attention is paid to his personal situation and to the crisis in Nicaragua.
