American anime is always a lot less than Japanese anime. It shows.

I just saw the 1st EP and thought it was quite nice, but I would have preferred a live action film adaptation of Castlevania.

Tl; dr: don't look! A very bad series. The four episodes seem to be a build-up to the second season, but cannot fascinate me enough to actually start waiting for this. Animation looks cheap in my opinion and voice acting is just plain bad. I think a 4 is actually too high a mark, but nostalgia has got me anyway, I think.
