After four seasons as Blake Gallo, Alberto Rosende will leave Chicago Fire following his final appearance in the season twelve premiere episode. Sources say Gallo's departure from the Wolf Entertainment/Universal Television drama was amicable.
Rosende (pictured) made his debut on the hit NBC series in the second episode of season eight, titled A Real Shot In The Arm, as a reckless new candidate for Fire Station 51 who impressed but also frustrated his colleagues. He was initially cast in a recurring role, but was cast in a regular role in 2019.
Kara Killmer, who played Sylvie Brett since season three, will also leave Chicago Fire in season twelve. And while fans will see two fan favorites depart, they can expect the return of Taylor Kinney as Kelly Severide, who returns next season after a leave of absence.
Elsewhere in the One Chicago universe, things are shaking up as well. Tracy Spiridakos is saying goodbye to her character Detective Hailey Upton Halstead in the upcoming eleventh season of Chicago PD. On Chicago Med, the addition of Luke Mitchell (Blindspot) to the season nine cast was announced last week.
In addition to his work on Chicago Fire, Rosende is best known for his role as Simon Lewis in the Freeform series Shadowhunters. Other roles include CBS' Blue Bloods and NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
The twelfth season of Chicago Fire begins on Wednesday, January 17 on NBC.
