Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 12

Farewell to Curb Your Enthusiasm. It is a farewell to the man with whom we have a love-hate relationship.
Until the end of this humorous television series, Larry David is portrayed as one of the men behind Seinfeld. The very last season also shows why. While the ending of Seinfeld has received a lot of criticism, Larry almost dares to copy that ending in Curb Your Enthusiasm. With the emphasis on almost. Jerry Seinfeld plays a role in it, just like earlier in this series.

The final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is a successful look back at the previous seasons. Several characters from previous seasons make another appearance. The focus is on Larry and an impending lawsuit against him. He takes it rather lightly, something that not everyone appreciates. It will play a major role in the outcome of his trial.

Sharp dialogues, confusing relationships and Larry waltzing through them like the famous elephant.

Larry is someone who doesn't really care for people. An inappropriate character who comes across as rather direct. He is bothered by the smallest details and has several phobias. He regularly has to apologize under pressure from his friends. Not that they are very sincere, but he is still somewhat sensitive to this etiquette. It's actually remarkable that Larry has any friends at all because his behavior requires quite a bit of flexibility and forgiveness. Strangely enough, Larry manages to attract several, often younger women to him in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Not that this lasts well for long, but it is remarkable.

His best friend may be his manager Jeff Greene (Jeff Garlin, The Goldbergs). Jeff often joins in the conversation with Larry. However, under pressure from his bossy wife Susie (Susie Essman, Baby Boom), Jeff often has to adapt. Larry also cannot escape Susie's whims. Their mutual relationship is bitter, but also has a certain dependency on each other. Larry's permanent resident is Leon (J.B. Smoove, The Millers). Leon is an oversexed black man who doesn't follow the rules very closely. He often helps to worsen the situation rather than to solve it. Another long-term friend is Richard Lewis (Anything but Love). Richard is constantly looking for the love of his life and Larry always manages to screw it up.

In ten episodes, Curb Your Enthusiasm once again shows why it is so much fun.

The final season is full of what we have been presented with for eleven seasons before. Sharp dialogues, confusing relationships and Larry waltzing through them like the famous elephant. This time, however, that seems to be turning against him even more than usual. Larry is faced with a difficult situation. The end of this season is really the end of the series. In ten episodes, Curb Your Enthusiasm once again shows why it is so much fun without really surprising or rising above itself. Saying goodbye to everything and everyone is too much for that.
