Actress Genneya Walton cast in Daredevil: Born Again

Genneya Walton has been cast in the upcoming Marvel/Disney+ superhero series Daredevil: Born Again. Details about the character are not revealed, but it is said that she will play a young journalist with connections to a character from the original series.



Walton (pictured) recently had a major recurring role on season four of Netflix's Never Have I Ever and starred in Amazon's Christmas film Candy Cane Lane opposite Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross. Other roles include the lead role in the Storm Reid-produced feature film Darby and the Dead (Disney/Hulu) and a series regular role in the Kenya Barris/Rashida Jones Netflix comedy #blackAF and Project MC2 on Netflix.

After a production freeze in mid-June due to the writers' strike, Marvel Studios has made a creative overhaul of Daredevil: Born Again, which follows original protagonist Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer turned criminal superhero, and sees Vincent D'Onofrio reprise his role as a mob boss. Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin reprises and Jon Bernthal returns as The Punisher.

As part of the changes, Dario Scardapane (The Punisher) has replaced Matt Corman and Chris Ord as showrunner.

The cast of Daredevil: Born Again also includes Margarita Levieva (The Deuce), Arty Froushan (Carnival Row), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards (2013)), Michael Gandolfini (The Deuce) and Nikki M. James (Severance). As we previously reported, we also hear that Wilson Bethel will reprise his role as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye from the original series. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will also reportedly reprise their roles as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.
