Daredevil: Born Again follows original star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who becomes the crime-fighting superhero Daredevil, and also features Vincent D’Onofrio reprising his role as mob boss Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin, as well as Jon Bernthal returning as The Punisher.
The audience at D23 was treated to a (still incomplete) teaser trailer for Daredevil: Born Again after the different actors - besides Cox, D'Onofrio and Bernthal, this also included Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson (see photo) - climbed the stage.
Wow! is the right word after seeing the latest teaser trailer. This is the Daredevil we know from Netflix. Visceral, cinematic, bloody. And there is a big homage to the movie Heat with Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock and Vincent Donofiro's Kingpin who meet in a restaurant to draw their verbal boundaries.
"If you step out of line, I’m going to be there," says Murdock. Kingpin then laughs and wonders whether it is Daredevil who is talking or Murdock.
In another recording, a prisoner says to Murdock: "You don't understand, people needed you."
Also featured is Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle aka The Punisher, who takes on Murdock in a brawl before the former realizes that he is his ally.
The tagline in the teaser trailer reads: "The Devil's Work Is Never Done." However, the teaser trailer was exclusive to D23 visitors, so MijnSerie cannot show it. However, anyone who makes a little effort will probably be able to find it somewhere on the internet.
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel, also confirmed that a second season will be filmed soon.
The cast of Daredevil: Born Again also includes Margarita Levieva, Arty Froushan, Sandrine Holt, Michael Gandolfini and Nikki M. James. Dario Scardapane is the showrunner and the direction is in the hands of Marvel's Loki duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
We will have to wait until March 1, 2025 for Daredevil: Born Again.
