The focus of the dramedy series “The Zweiflers” is the eponymous Zweifler family, who are faced with an important decision at the beginning of the series: Symcha Zweifler (Mike Burstyn) wants to sell the delicatessen empire, but this means that the businessman's beginnings in Frankfurt's red light district come directly after that Second World War back to the surface. Other repressed conflicts also resurface. Furthermore, the love between grandson Samuel (Aaron Altaras) and the cook Saba (Saffron Marni Coomber) exacerbates the situation when disagreement arises over whether the newborn son should be circumcised or not. Samuel is torn between his love for Saba and the ever-present expectations of his family, which is steeped in Jewish traditions
