Fox gives start date for medical drama Doc season two

The second season of Doc returns soon to FOX, promising another intense and emotional medical drama.
After losing her memory, Dr. Amy Larsen (played by Molly Parker) continues to try to rebuild her life and career. Eight years of memories have been erased by a car accident, and Amy is no longer the Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital. Instead, she starts back at the bottom—as an intern—determined to become the doctor (and the woman) she once was.

The second season focuses on personal growth, medical challenges, and emotional confrontations, as Amy confronts her past and tries to repair relationships that have changed or been damaged in the intervening years.

A notable addition to the cast this season is Emmy winner Felicity Huffman, who plays Dr. Joan Ridley, Amy's former mentor and professor from her college days. Ridley has since been appointed the hospital's new head of Internal Medicine, adding an extra layer of tension to Amy's quest for recovery, recognition, and redefinition.

In addition to Parker and Huffman, the cast includes Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, Jon-Michael Ecker, Anya Banerjee, Patrick R. Walker, and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim.

Doc season two premieres Tuesday, September 23, on Fox.
