Guest star reveals for CBS's The Good Wife spin-off Elsbeth

Elsbeth, the spinoff of The Good Wife coming to CBS next month, has put together a list of guest stars.
The series follows Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston), an astute but unconventional lawyer who makes unique observations and corners brilliant criminals with the NYPD. After leaving her successful legal career in Chicago to take on a new investigative role in New York City, Elsbeth finds herself in a battle with Captain C.W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce), a charismatic and respected leader.

Working alongside Elsbeth is Officer Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson), a stoic and ethical officer who quickly comes to appreciate Elsbeth's insightful and unconventional ways.

Among the guest stars we can expect to see are (from left to right in photos) Jane Krakowski, Blair Underwood, Retta and Linda Lavin. They join previously announced guest star Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family).

Krakowski (30 Rock, Ally McBeal) will play Joann, a wealthy Manhattan real estate agent with big clients and even bigger secrets.

Underwood (L.A. Law, Quantico) plays the father and coach of a rising tennis star, who is so committed to his son's career that he makes a murderous mistake.

Retta (Parks and Recreation, Good Girls) will play Margo, the top matchmaker of New York's wealthy and impossible to please.

Linda Lavin (B Positive), who played Joy Grubick in three episodes of The Good Wife, will star in Elsbeth as Gloria, who is described as the chairman of the board of the co-op from hell.

Elsbeth is produced by The Good Wife and The Good Fight creators Robert and Michelle King along with Jonathan Tolins, who serves as showrunner, and Liz Glotzer.

“We are so thrilled to have such wonderful actors join us in such a diverse assortment of complex and interesting characters on Elsbeth,” Tolins said. “They’re all spectacular and we can’t believe our luck. We hope to keep attracting such high-caliber talent to face off with Carrie Preston, and play with us in New York.”

Elsbeth can be seen on CBS from Thursday, February 29.
