Emily in Paris - Season 4
Emily in Paris is a wonderful series to clear your head. It has been four seasons since the Parisian adventure of Emily Cooper (Lily Collins, Les Miserables) from Chicago began. She has now established herself in the French capital. At least, as far as her work is concerned. Her love affairs will keep her busy for a while. Especially after that third season cliffhanger. Will it finally be Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) that Emily will choose this season, or Alfie (Lucien Laviscount, Scream Queens)? Or perhaps someone else?
Emily in Paris is a romantic comedy series from Netflix. In the first season, "All-American Girl" Emily Cooper moves from Chicago to Paris to work at a high-class luxury marketing agency. She enters the city full of naivety, a bit of arrogance and without speaking a single word of French. Four seasons later, little has actually changed. But Emily somehow manages to save herself. Still without any command of the French language.
Predictable clichés, ridiculous haute couture, bizarre marketing campaigns and dizzying love affairs characterize the series. It's wonderful to watch and completely reset your mind. And that's exactly what Emily in Paris is for. It doesn't have to be high-quality television, as long as it looks nice.
Of course, the series can also count on some criticism. According to many, the series is predictable, Emily does not experience any growth, the clichés are offensive and it is completely unrealistic. That's all true, of course, but Emily in Paris nevertheless manages to attract a disgusting number of viewers every season. After all, 'hate viewers' are also viewers.
That's why the fourth season gets a 7.5 from me. Bring on Emily in Paris season five, or Emily in Rome?

I always look forward to a new season of the series. Between the heavy crime miniseries, grand fantasy and complicated science fiction, a romcom is wonderful every now and then. Just clear your mind. Everything always turns out fine. You don't have to understand anything. It will all work itself out. And that is exactly what the series intends and tries to do. It does what it tries to do well. The series is characterized by predictable clichés, ridiculous haute couture, bizarre marketing campaigns and dizzying love affairs.
