When CBS announced that they had managed to get Halle Berry for a new thirteen-part series, Huize Gumstarr immediately put the flag on the facade. I am a fan of Halle. Even if Halle were to knit fishermen's sweaters from navel fluff in a sterile white room for thirteen episodes, I would still enjoy watching it. At least that's what I thought. However, the first 45 minutes Extant already showed that Halle is no longer the Halle who was stretched out in Swordfish on a stretcher with bare-chested to read a book. Also the fact that the great Steven Spielberg was sideways involved in this chewed-up Alien(s) light version, unfortunately did not help. So. Hally is called Molly in Extant. Molly is an astronaut and returns to Earth after a solo flight 13 months pregnant. Well, I am not a midwife myself, but from my three years of biology at secondary school I seem to remember that as a human being 9 months are more than enough. So that's a mystery. A mystery that then waits 13 episodes for an answer. Between episodes one and thirteen there is a lot of mediocre acting and an accumulation of “Yeah, right”'s and “Tuuuuurlijk”'s. Actually, Extant would deserve a 7, but since I'm a sucker for sentiment and Halle's bum in her astronaut suit looks like two chicken breasts in a vacuumed cellophane wrapper, I give him a 7+. That's how I am.
Even though I have to watch a main character for twelve episodes who makes fart noises by pressing his upper arm against his body with his hand under his armpit, I don't care. Extant has Halle Berry. I do not need more.
Despite the fact that the series has ended, CBS has decided to give the series a second season. Next summer together with the third season of Under the Dome ;-)
I thought it was a top series but suddenly it turned around completely and I didn't even bother to watch the end. My mark was 9 at first, but this sudden negative reworking and ending made me so disappointed that I ended up with a 1. Unfortunately.
Watched the entire season 1 series. As with any series, the beginning is believable, only to keep the series going and interesting it gets tedious. But the cliffhangers at the end of each episode make you look right back and long for the next episode.
You want to know how it ends, but the series is actually annoying. Hale Berry is acting on an automatic pilot. Well served it out but not worth repeating
Nice series to watch, unbelievable? Yes. Exciting? Yes. but which series is that not. Am I going to follow him again? Do not think so. The series was finished it said, I'd rather have seen another series come back from the dead,
The series has never been canceled. By default, a status is given to the series when the future is unclear. When it became known that the series would be renewed, the status was changed.
And again something to which Spielberg's name is stuck that will unfortunately come to an end, but hopefully also very soon. Decorated with some CGI and noisy music, it may still seem like something and some will be charmed by the lead actress. But this series really goes wrong. That Berry doesn't give a damn. Chicken leg with fries, mayonnaise and apple sauce. (With friend Stephen's icing.)
