The second season of Family Law (CA) has been picked up by The CW for this summer

The CW wants to stay in business with Family Law (CA). The network has picked up the second season of the Canadian series and it will air sometime this summer.
Family Law (CA) is a legal drama series starring Jewel Staite, Victor Garber, Zach Smadu, Genelle Williams, Lauren Holly and Bobbi Charlton.

In the story, Abigail Bianchi (Staite) is a lawyer and recovering alcoholic. She struggles to get her career and family back on track after a rock bottom. As a condition of her probation, Abby must work at Svensson and Associates, the law firm of her estranged father, Harry (Garber). She practices family law for the first time and has to manage not only her clients' dysfunction, but also her own. In addition to the relationship with her father, Abby also works with her half-brother, Daniel (Smadu), and her half-sister, Lucy (Williams), a psychiatrist - two people she has never met.

Family Law (CA)

The first season of Family Law (CA), which airs on Sunday nights, averaged 0.06 in the 18-49 demographic and 314,000 viewers in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback until 3:00 AM). In the live+7-day viewing figures, the series picked up about 50% more viewers.

Now that The CW is primarily owned by Nexstar, the network's focus is on airing low-cost programming, primarily unscripted and acquired series. Management has said the goal is for the network to be profitable by 2025.

The second season of Family Law (CA) will air this summer, but the network has not yet announced a specific start date. The series has already been renewed for a third season in Canada.
