Fifth season Fargo gets start date and first-look photos

In addition to a premiere date for the new season, the network also revealed the first images and key art.
In addition, FX revealed more details about the plot of the Noah Hawley-created series that stems from the Oscar-winning 1996 Coen Brothers film. The latest installment was previously revealed to be set in Minnesota and North Dakota in 2019. While the fourth season had eleven episodes, Fargo season five has ten.

After an unexpected turn of events lands Dorothy "Dot" Lyon (Juno Temple, Ted Lasso) in trouble with the authorities, this seemingly quintessential Midwestern housewife is suddenly thrown back into a life she thought she'd left behind.

North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm, Good Omens) has been looking for Dot for a long time. As a rancher, preacher and constitutional law officer, Roy believes he is the law and thus above the law.

At his side is his loyal but worthless son, Gator (Joe Keery, Stranger Things), who is desperate to prove himself to his larger-than-life father. Unfortunately, he is hopeless. So when it comes to hunting down Dot, Roy enlists Ole Munch (Sam Spruell, Liar), a shadowy drifter of mysterious parentage.

As her deepest secrets begin to unravel, Dot tries to shield her family from her past, but her loving, well-meaning husband Wayne (David Rysdahl, Black Mirror) keeps running after his mother, Lorraine Lyon (Jennifer Jason Leigh, Atypical). for assistance. The 'Queen of Debt', CEO of the largest debt collection agency in the country, is not impressed by her son's choice of a wife and takes every opportunity to express her disapproval.

But when Dot's unusual behavior catches the attention of Minnesota police deputy Indira Olmstead (Richa Moorjani, Never Have I Ever) and North Dakota deputy Witt Farr (Lamorne Morris, New Girl), Lorraine appoints her corporate lawyer and chief adviser. , Danish Graves (Dave Foley, Young Sheldon), to help her daughter-in-law. After all, family is family. But Dot has an uncanny knack for survival. And with her back against the wall, she's about to show why you should never provoke a mother Lyon.

FX's fifth season of Fargo returns on Tuesday, November 21.
