Don Cheadle added to cast of Peacock's Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist

Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, the limited series from Peacock, has added Don Cheadle, known from the Marvel films as James Rhodes/War Machine, to the cast.

Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist tells the story of an infamous armed robbery following Muhammad Ali's historic comeback fight in 1970.

Cheadle (pictured) will play JD Hudson, one of the first black detectives in Atlanta assigned to Ali's security and the heist, in the series.

He joins Kevin Hart (True Story), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Samuel L. Jackson (The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray) and Terrence Howard (Empire) in the series, which comes from Shaye Ogbonna.

Set in Atlanta, the series follows the heavyweight fight and criminal underground heist that introduced the world to the city dubbed "the Black Mecca" and the cop and hustler at its center.

Cheadle recently reprized his Marvel role of James 'Rhodey' Rhodes in Secret Invasion. He received two Emmy nominations for his role in Showtime's Black Monday. He also starred in the Showtime series House of Lies. Cheadle was the narrator in the comedy series The Wonder Years.

Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist was created and written by Ogbonna, who serves as showrunner alongside Jason Horwitch. The series is produced by Universal Television and is based on the podcast Fight Night.

Ogbonna, Horwitch, Hart, Will Packer, Sabrina Wind, Bryan Smiley, Mike Stein, Conal Byrne, Carrie Lieberman, Jeff Keating, Lars Jacobson and Craig Brewer are producing and Brewer (Empire) is directing four episodes.
