Firefly is een Amerikaanse sciencefictionserie van de zender FOX. De serie ging in première op 20 september 2002.
Firefly is een bijzondere mix tussen een western en SF, modern en traditioneel. Naast hightech schitteren bijvoorbeeld oude Wild West vuurwapens en kleding. Daarnaast valt de achtergrond muziek in de serie op: cowboy muziek met Aziatische invloeden. Het titellied van de serie, "The Ballad of Serenity", werd door Joss Whedon zelf geschreven.

This series, like Battlestar Galactica, is not broadcast in sequence on TV, so the episodes and the story are mixed up. If you want to see the series, you can use the following list: 01. Just watched the movie 'Serenity' as the end of this series. AWESOME! I'm so sorry I didn't pick up this series much sooner.. and what a moron who canceled this series. Summer Glau is a great actress. Very neat how she can portray this character. Tribute.

This is a really nice series, I don't understand why it has hardly been picked up, a nice mix of SF and western.
