That's what I thought too after reading the comments. It's a beautiful series that doesn't go very fast, but it still keeps you fascinated. I look forward to season 2.

While I was still very enthusiastic after the first three episodes, this enthusiasm started to cool off considerably after seeing episodes four and five. It's about time someone did something with this story and it's clear that Apple is eager to cash in on one of the biggest, most important and best SciFi book series of the last century. But then they completely ignore these books. I'm really wondering what I've been watching these last two episodes. It really looks beautiful, it has a high production value (which is fair considering the money the series cost) but it has little to do with the books. Yes, they use the same names of people and places, but most of the events do not appear in the books at all. I deliberately reread them this year in anticipation of this series. But that wasn't necessary. Because other than the basic premise of the series, it has little to do with the books. The war with Anacreon is even prevented in the book by an intellectual and political game by Salvor Hardin and Terminus remains undamaged. But that doesn't provide enough action, I think, so now Terminus is attacked and (almost?) destroyed. Again, this is not the story from the source material. The fact that it was decided to cast dark-skinned women for almost all leading roles, while in the book they are men (e.g. Salvor Harding and Gaal Dornick) also indicates that they want to convey a certain woke message. And, as you may know, I'm not really into that ;-) I had great expectations for it, but unfortunately I have to say that it is turning out to be a disappointment. I can get over the strange casting choices, but I find it unforgivable that they are devising and telling their own story under the banner of Isaac Asimov's magnum opus. This series could have been named anything and worked as a SciFi series. But as a "Foundation" it really doesn't work. I am very disappointed...

Although I was very enthusiastic after the first episode, I unfortunately have to agree with the previous writer. It tends to be a nice SF Series, but it no longer has much to do with Foundation by Asimov. To be honest, I thought for years that it wouldn't be filmable. Now just enjoy a beautifully made SF story in series form.

I completely agree with you again. It is clear that the woke virus has struck here too. Apparently nowadays there is a kind of police that checks series for the number of women, colors, gay, lesbian, transgender, etc. Furthermore, I have not read the books (I am too impatient to read), so I cannot make a comparison with them. I do think it is a very nice series with beautiful special effects, even though they are quite scarce. I think there could be a few more space scenes in it. I'm eagerly awaiting the second season.

I noticed in the first episodes that I couldn't really engage with the characters and the story. This came later in the series. Not my type of syfy. visually ok

I have watched both seasons and find it a very interesting series. The nice thing is that the story, based on the books by Isaac Asimov, spans thousands of years and that is quite an intriguing fact. I have never pushed myself to read the books because I don't have the patience for it, and I am more of a fan of the visual thing, so I am more open-minded about the filmed story than someone who has read the books. So I cannot make a comparison or give an opinion about it. The series has nice special effects, even if they are quite scarce. I think there could be a few more space scenes in it. The story continues to fascinate and I look forward to a new time period of the second foundation, the empire and then in the third and hopefully more subsequent seasons, because the story, which spans thousands of years, is far too long to tell in a few seasons .
