Troy Kutsur cast in third season of Foundation (2021)

Troy Kotsur, who won an Oscar for his role in CODA, is returning to Apple. Kotsur is participating in the third season of Foundation (2021).

The news comes as the series, which hails from Skydance TV, returns to production after being postponed again due to budgeting and physical production issues. Production in the Czech Republic and Poland was then postponed to March 6.

The science fiction drama stars Jared Harris and Lee Pace.



Kotsur (photo) plays Preem Palver, the leader of a planet full of mediums. Kotsur was born deaf, but that did not prevent him from becoming a successful actor. He won an Oscar as well as a British Academy Film Award, a Critics' Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in CODA. In the series field, Kotsur had guest roles in The Mandalorian, Criminal Minds and CSI: NY, among others.

Based on the trilogy by Isaac Asimov, Foundation (2021) tells the saga of The Foundation, a group of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it. It follows the stories of four pivotal individuals who transcend space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties, and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.

In addition to Pace and Harris, Foundation (2021) stars Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, Isabella Laughland, Kulvinder Ghir, Ella-Rae Smith, Holt McCallany, Rachel House, Nimrat Kaur, Ben Daniels and Dimitri Leonidas).

Foundation (2021) is produced for Apple by Skydance Television. David S. Goyer, who serves as showrunner, produces along with Alex Graves, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bill Bost and Robin Asimov.
