Game of Thrones is een HBO-serie gebaseerd op de fantasyboeken 'Een Lied van IJs en Vuur' van George R. R. Martin. Het gaat over een machtsstrijd om de ijzeren troon tussen zeven verschillende adellijke families op het fictieve continent Westeros. Robert Baratheon is koning van Westeros, maar al snel ontdekt hij dat zijn troon zeer gewild is onder de adellijke families. Om het allemaal nog erger te maken staat er in het Noorden een oud kwaad op, klaar om het verscheurde Westeros binnen te vallen.

It's not exactly a family series, and like the Hobbit movie cycle, it doesn't match the books either. That the writer George RR Martin says the pilot closely follows the storyline of the books is complete nonsense, but if I were the writer I would say that for the money, because books don't sell well anymore!

1 of the best series ever made. But the last season 8 was very bad. Too bad that the quality of the series has dropped so much. They'd better have detained the writers. Even the cast is very dissatisfied with the last season. If the writer has also written the last book, there should be a remake!
