Ghosts Adds Guest Stars Dean Norris and Mary Holland to Season Four

Comedy series Ghosts is adding a number of new characters for season four.

Dean Norris and Mary Holland are guest starring on the series. Breaking Bad actor Norris (pictured below, right) plays Frank, the father of Samantha (Rose McIver), while The Big Door Prize actress Holland (pictured below, left) plays the recurring role of Patience, a character who has been highly anticipated since last season.

15831 Mary Holland and Dean Winters

Patience is the ghost of a Puritan woman who died in the late 1600s. When she was alive, she was unusually strict and judgmental, even by Puritan standards. She was banished from her village for being "a little too much."

After being dead for a few hundred years, Patience was accidentally (by the Revolutionary War spirit Isaac) left underground near the mansion and has been a feral creature since 1895.

In the season three finale, Patience resurfaced to kidnap Isaac and drag him back to her lair. At the start of season four, we meet Patience and learn what her plans are for our sweet Isaac.

Meanwhile, CBS describes Frank as "kind and well-meaning," visiting Woodstone for the first time in years, along with his new girlfriend. Frank and Sam have struggled connecting ever since Frank divorced Sam's mother when Sam was ten. On the surface, Frank and Sam are warmhearted, but deep down, Sam resents her father for being so absent from her life. After decades of insisting that “everything was fine,” Sam is finally forced to confront these feelings when a new ghost in Woodstone forces her into an uncomfortable conversation with her father.

In Ghosts, McIver stars with Utkarsh Ambudkar as a couple who inherit a dilapidated mansion in upstate New York that they decide to convert into a bed and breakfast. After a near-death experience, McIver’s character is suddenly able to see the ghosts that inhabit the house.

The series stars Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Román Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Rebecca Wisocky, and Devan Chandler Long.

The series is executive produced by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, who also serve as showrunners.

Richie Keen, Matthew Baynton, Jim Howick, Simon Farnaby, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond, Martha Howe-Douglas, Alison Carpenter, Debra Hayward and Alison Owen (Monumental Television) and Angie Stephenson (BBC Studios) are also executive producers. Ghosts is produced by CBS Studios in association with Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions.

Norris is known for his role as DEA Agent Hank Schrader on AMC’s hit series Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul. He recently had a recurring role on the fourth season of Law & Order: Organized Crime and has appeared on CBS’s Under the Dome and TNT’s Claws.

Holland has appeared in Apple TV series The Big Door Prize, The Afterparty and Physical; and was also seen in the Netflix miniseries The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.

Season four of Ghosts debuts just in time for Halloween on Thursday, October 17th, on CBS.
