HBO has officially renewed the comedy series ‘Girls’ with a fifth season. HBO's president of programming, Michael Lombardo, made the announcement, before season four starts on 11 January.
While ‘Girls’ does not draw a very large audience, the first broadcasts gained an average of 800,000 viewers with a 0.4 percent rating in the 18-49 demographics.
Created by and starring Lena Dunham, ‘Girls’ takes a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of women in their early 20s living in New York City.
Girls is the first series that has officially been renewed in 2015 and will probably be broadcast early 2016.
