With the 5th season of FOX’s “Glee” originally scheduled to begin filming later this month, producers have the horrific task of trying to decide how to address the sudden death of actor Cory Monteith.
According to a July 16 report from FOX News , the network says it’s too soon to tell how the actor’s death will be handled on the show, but execs are now scheduling meetings to discuss how to continue last season’s story lines without Monteith's character, Finn Hudson. According to ABC News , Monteith was set to play a prominent part in the first two episodes of the upcoming season.
One idea that is said to be getting a serious look is to delay production for about a month, “to let everyone breathe,” a Fox source said. That move would force the show to miss its original production start date next week.
The new season, which would’ve put Cory‘s character Finn back at William McKinley High School as the Glee Club’s co-advisor and heading towards a teaching degree at the University of Lima, was set to premiere September 19. Fans of 'Glee' may have to wait until November for the popular musical show's return, but my guess is that the fans will understand
A Fox spokesman declined to comment.
