Sky TV has announced the premiere date of the second season of A Discovery of Witches. The new season will start in January 2021.

That the second season is going to release on Sky TV somewhere in January 2021 has been known for quite some time. The network has now, however, revealed a specific date for the premiere episode. Starting on Friday the 8th of January, the second season of A Discovery of Witches will premiere on Sky TV. In 2018, Sky TV ordered a second and third season of the fantasy series. It is not yet known when the third season is expected to release. It is possible that the production process will begin at some point in Q4 2021.

A Discovery of Witches is based on the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness. The story revolves around Diana Bishop, historian and witch. She has to solve peculiar mysteries. She is helped by Matthew Clairmont, a vampire. Diana knows that witches shouldn't trust vampires. Last October, Sky TV released the first trailer for the second season.

In the second season, the cast is expanded with Tom Hughes, Sheila Hancock (Unforgotten), James Purefoy (Sex Education) and Steven Cree (Outlander). Hancock will portray the experienced witch Goody Alsop. Purefoy will portray a vampire called Philippe and Cree will portray Matthew's nephew.
