HBO Max has ordered the comedy series Head of the Class (2021). It will feature Isabella Gomez (One Day at a Time (2017)). It is a reboot of the series with the same name from 1986.



The series order for Head of the Class (2021) doesn't come as a surprise. Back in 2020, the series received a pilot order with five potential scripts. HBO Max has ordered ten episodes of the new series. Head of the Class (2021) is based on the same series from 1986, Head of the Class.

The new series revolves around teacher Alicia Adams. She wants her performing students to focus less on achieving high grades and focus more on acquiring life experience. The series comes from Bill Lawrence (Scrubs), Amy Pocha (American Vandal) and Seth Cohen (American Vandal).

Isabella Gomez (One Day at a Time (2017)) will portray the lead character. Katie Beth Hall (Happy!) and Christa Miller (Cougar Town) will also portray a - guest - lead role. Next to that, the cast will further consist of Jorge Diaz (The Long Road Home), Jolie Hoang-Rappaport (Watchmen (2019)), Gavin Lewis (Little Fires Everywhere), Dior Goodjohn (Glee), Brandon Severs (Diary of a Future President and newcomer Adrian Matthew Escalona.
