Production on the first season of The Wheel of Time has just about finished, but the cast and crew will not grow restless. Soon, production on the second season is going to start. Amazon Prime Video has renewed the American fantasy series with its second season. The series is based on the bestselling novel series by Robert Jordan. Rafe Judkins (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) serves as showrunner and executive producer.
The Wheel of Time takes place in a vast world where women are able to wield magic. The story follows Moiraine, a member of the shady and entirely female organisation Aes Sedai. Alongside five young men and women, she embarks on a dangerous journey. One of these five is the reincarnation of an incredibly powerful person, who could save or destroy humanity according to prophecies.
Even though The Wheel of Time is an American series, it has some Dutch flair. Dutch actor Joshua Stradowski (Hoogvliegers) portrays one of the lead characters in the series. Next to the Dutch Stradowski, Rosamund Pike (State of the Union) is also part of the cast. She portrays Moiraine.
