Since 2012, MySeries has organised the annual series of the year election. Soon, people will be able to vote in different categories. As MySeries never sits idle and is open to change, we have made some changes this year.

This year, the binge-watch category has been replaced with a 'drama' category. Non-Dutch/English has been given a new name, international series. We've also changed the time period in which series become eligible for the election. Previously, you could only vote on series that released from January till December. Unfortunately, this resulted in some series being left out due to a late December release. Because of that, you can now vote on series that released from December 2020 till November 2021. By doing that, hopefully, more series from December will be nominated.

The 2021 elections consist of the following categories:

Best comedy/dramedy series (new name)
Best superhero series
Best international series (new name)
Best Dutch/Flemish series
Best animated series
Best science-fiction or fantasy series
Best ended series
Best crime series
Most disappointing series
Best actress
Best actor
Best miniseries or anthology series
Best drama series (new category)
Best new series
Best series of 2021

This year, we'll once again randomly award prizes to those who voted on the Series of the year election. If you've voted, you could win one of the following prizes:

1 two year premium account (valued at € 44,95)
2 Easy Lock leak-free mugs with MySeries logo (valued at 24,95)
10 one year premium accounts (valued at € 24,95)

This message serves as the starting signal to the MySeries Series of the Year Elections 2021. Starting tomorrow, the 21st of December, columns will be released each day. Each column will go over a top ten of one of the categories, or the five nominated actors and actresses. Starting on the 5th of January, the voting polls will open. And what will you pick? The series that had the best actors? The series that had the best story? Or the series that entertained you the most? You will likely find it difficult to choose. There is always the chance that your favourite isn't part of the nominated list. Luckily, you can always use a wildcard if your favourite choice has been left out.

First off, enjoy reading the daily released columns!

With kind election-regards,

Mandy
