Nicholas Logan and Jeri Ryan have joined the cast of AMC's Dark Winds.

The western noir thriller series is based on the popular Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman. Logan debuts in a regular role in the series' second season and Ryan has a recurring role opposite Zahn McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon in the series from creator Graham Roland and executive producers George R.R. Martin and Robert Redford.

The castings confirm AMC's commitment to Dark Winds, which is a critical and commercial breakthrough, following a series of decisions by the network in recent weeks to roll back the series to cut costs.

Set in 1971 in a remote Navajo Nation outpost near Monument Valley, Dark Winds follows Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon) of the Tribal Police as he is beset by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes.

Jessica Matten, Deanna Allison and Elva Guerra also star.

Logan (pictured) plays Colton Wolf, a deranged killer with a secret that puts him on a collision course with Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon).

The actor will also soon be seen in a recurring role on AMC's upcoming series Parish opposite Giancarlo Esposito. He was seen last year in Dopesick opposite Michael Keaton and Kaitlyn Dever. He has also played guest roles in Watchmen (2019, Queen of the South and Hap and Leonard.

Ryan (pictured below) plays Rosemary Vines, a femme fatale whose physical weaknesses hide her naked ambition as she plays Jim Chee (Gordon) and leaves a trail of corpses.

She recently appeared in the role of Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Picard. Her other television roles include Body of Proof, MacGyver, Bosch, and Major Crimes, among others.

Roland, Martin and Redford, who produced two film adaptations of Hillerman's Leaphorn & Chee books, "The Dark Wind" and "Skinwalkers," are producing alongside Tina Elmo and Vince Gerardis. John Wirth serves as executive producer and showrunner for season two. Chris Eyre, who directed "Skinwalkers," is directing the pilot and also co-producing with McClarnon.
