The Wheel of Time has a season two start date. Prime Video has announced the return of the fantasy series with the release of four first-look photos.



Based on Robert Jordan's bestseller, The Wheel of Time series is set in a world where magic exists, but only a select few have access to it.

A humble farm boy, Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski, Highflyers), discovers himself to be The Dragon Reborn - a dangerous figure of history destined to save the world... or break it. Desperate to protect him from the Dark One, an army of powerful sorceresses must reckon with his growing power and encroaching madness. The Wheel of Time turns, and the Final Battle approaches. Although Rand thought he had destroyed the Dark One, evil has not vanished from the world.



Season two of the Amazon Original Series kicks off Friday, September 1 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world. The series is a co-production of Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios. The first season of The Wheel of Time will also be streaming for free on Amazon Freevee for a month starting Friday, July 14.

In the second season, new and very old threats seek out the young friends of the Two Rivers, now scattered around the world. The woman who found and guided them is now powerless, so they must find other sources of strength. In each other, or in themselves. In the light... or the darkness.

The Wheel of Time also stars Rosamund Pike (State of the Union) as Moiraine Damodred, Daniel Henney (Criminal Minds) as Lan Mandragoran, Zoë Robins (The Shannara Chronicles) as Nynaeve al'Meara, Madeleine Madden (Picnic at Hanging Rock) as Egwene al'Vere, Marcus Rutherford (Bulletproof) as Perrin Aybara, Dónal Finn (SAS: Rogue Heroes) as Mat Cauthon, and Ceara Coveney (Young Wallander) as Elayne Trakand.



The Wheel of Time was adapted for television by executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hemlock Grove). Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage of iwot productions, Ted Field of Radar Pictures, Mike Weber, Darren Lemke, Marigo Kehoe (Outlander, The Crown), Justine Juel Gillmer (The 100, Halo), Sanaa Hamri (Empire) and Amanda Kate Shuman ( The Blacklist) are also executive producers. Rosamund Pike also serves as co-executive producer and Harriet McDougal, Brandon Sanderson and Lauren Selig serve as consulting producer. The Wheel of Time is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios.
