Set after the events of The Walking Dead, the spin-off starring Daryl will show the seasoned survivor washed up in France with no memory of how he got there. Daryl goes on a journey to try to find out what happened to him, while also trying to find a way home to Alexandria, Virginia.
Now there's a teaser trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon showing Daryl lost at sea on an overturned boat. The teaser shows Daryl in the middle of the ocean, which looks like a coastline far in the distance. The trailer also revealed that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will release sometime this fall.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will be the second new spinoff in the Walking Dead universe since the end of the first series in November 2022. Norman Reedus returns as Daryl, but new characters include Isabelle (Clémence Poésy), a member of a religious group, and Quinn (Adam Nagaitis), the owner of a nightclub. Like the current spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will consist of six episodes, with room for more seasons in the future.
Reedus has shared how The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon differs from The Walking Dead, calling it a "reset" with a different look and feel than the original series. Given the more cinematic filming techniques already used in The Walking Dead: Dead City, it makes sense that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon also has its own style. This will make Daryl's spin-off stand out within The Walking Dead universe.
Daryl will also face many unknown dangers in the form of new humans and new zombies. A spinoff of The Walking Dead titled The Walking Dead: World Beyond featured a post-credits scene showing fast, aggressive Walkers in Paris. Since that's Daryl's next destination, the seasoned survivor will likely have to deal with a lot of fast-paced zombie variants in the series. With so many unknowns about how he arrived in Paris and what he will face, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon sets up an interesting storyline for Daryl as the universe expands.
