AMC Networks has dropped a teaser for season two of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire starring Delainey Hayles as the new teen vampire Claudia.

The series is based on the 1976 novel that was made into a movie in 1994 starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. The series follows the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he recounts his life with his creator Lestat de Lioncourt and teenage vampire Claudia to veteran journalist Daniel Molloy, accompanied by the ancient vampire Armand. The first season was well received by critics and the series was renewed before its premiere in October last year.

Gran Via Productions, Dwight Street Book Club and AMC Studios are the producers.

Delainey Hayles (Holby City) was cast in March to replace Bailey Bass, who played the lead female role in the series' first season. The trailer was shown at Comic-Con last Friday.

Earlier this week, production on season two was halted due to the actors' strike, despite being filmed outside the US with a largely international cast. The horror series has been filming mainly in Prague since April and the British Assad Zaman, Jacob Anderson and Hayles and the Australian Sam Reid play the leading roles, together with Americans such as Eric Bogosian.

Some U.S. projects filming abroad with a largely international cast, such as HBO's House of the Dragon, were able to continue despite the strike, but AMC has confirmed that Interview with the Vampire has laid down the tools, some of the actors being SAG members. House of the Dragon and fellow HBO series Industry fall under the British actors' union Equity rather than SAG.
