A sequel is being made to the Dutch crime series Anoniem and Jeroen Spitzenberger (Oogappels) and Anniek Pheifer (Vliegende Hollanders) return.

Anoniem was made by Diederik van Rooijen (The Ancestor). The series follows (the family of) Jurre (Spitzenberger) and Sarah (Pheifer), who each fight crime in their own way: Sarah is a public prosecutor and Jurre grows into an anonymous hero through social media.

"Anoniem is far from finished," says Van Rooijen in a statement. "Thanks to so many loyal followers, there will be a second season for the successful crime series. I am very proud of what we have made and that the Netherlands has embraced Anoniem so much. The fight against crime has only just begun for Jurre and his family!"

Last week, Van Rooijen thanked everyone on Instagram who watched Anoniem on television and binge-watched via NPO Plus, where the series can still be seen.

Also playing in the first season are Mies van Rooijen, Sil van der Zwan, Xiorèse Romero, Tarikh Janssen (De Spa), Teun Luijkx (The Year of Fortuyn), Peter Blok (Deep Grounds), Jouman Fattal (Zina), Roeland Fernhout ( Five Live), Marcel Hensema (Hollands Hoop) and Amazone Gonsalves leading roles.

It is not yet known when the shooting of the second season will start.
