Season three of the NBC sci-fi drama La Brea will be its last. The series will conclude with a shortened season consisting of six episodes.

La Brea follows an epic family adventure after a massive sinkhole opens in Los Angeles, dragging people and buildings into a mysterious and dangerous prehistoric land where they have no choice but to work together to survive.

The third season airs on Tuesday, January 9 at 21:00 and serves as a lead-in for the final two episodes of the fall drama Found.

The cast includes Natalie Zea, Eoin Macken, Jon Seda, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chiké Okonkwo, Zyra Gorecki, Jack Martin, Veronica St. Clair, Rohan Mirchandaney, Lily Santiago, Josh McKenzie, Tonantzin Carmelo and Michelle Vergara Moore.

La Brea, which received a straight-to-series order after production of its pilot was derailed by the pandemic in 2020, had a solid start in fall 2021 with a 10-episode first season and earned a second-season renewal with fourteen episodes. It was then affected by the looming WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, forcing NBC to opt for a shortened season and lay off actors so they could take other jobs.

For season three, creator/showrunner David Appelbaum is producing alongside Chris Hollier, Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan, Avi Nir and Alon Shtruzman. La Brea is produced by Universal Television and Australia's Matchbox Pictures, both divisions of Universal Studio Group, in association with Keshet Studios.
