The Conners will have to make do without a familiar face in season six. A regular cast member has left the series.

Jayden Rey, who played DJ's daughter Mary since the beginning of the Roseanne revival, will not return as a regular cast member on the series in the upcoming season, sources confirm.

Her departure follows the departure last season of her series father, played by Michael Fishman, who was written out of the series before season five. However, Rey (photo) continued to play a regular role. DJ's wife Geena Willams Conner was written out of the series when Maya Lynne Robinson left after the first season.

While Rey won't be returning as a series regular, we hear the door remains open for possible guest appearances. ABC declined to comment.

According to the official synopsis: The Conners continue to deal with the daily struggles of life in Lanford. This iconic family - Dan, Jackie, Darlene and Becky - grapples with parenthood, dating, financial pressures and growing older in working-class America. Through it all - the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns - with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails.

Returning cast members for season six include John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jay R. Ferguson and Katey Sagal, who is returning.

The Conners is produced by Werner Entertainment. Tom Werner is executive producer, along with Gilbert, Helford, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen and Tony Hernandez.

Season six airs Wednesday, February 7 on ABC.
