Fox is expanding the cast for season two of John Eisendrath and Jamie Foxx's Alert: Missing Persons Unit.

Alisha-Marie Ahamed (Family Law (CA)) joins as a guest actress and Gil Bellows (Ally McBeal) has been tapped to play a major role opposite Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez in the procedural drama.

In season two, Ahamed (pictured left) will play Wayne Pascal. Despite her name, Wayne is a real woman and a master hacker serving her house arrest in a dingy motel. Wayne is a feisty technician with a heart of gold beneath her sharp exterior.

Bellows (pictured right) is Inspector Hollis Braun. Inspector Braun is Nikki and Jason's new boss. As head of the division, he is determined to keep their antics in line.

Written by Eisendrath, Alert is set in the Philadelphia Police Department's Missing Persons Unit (MPU). Each episode features a heartbreaking, death-defying search for a missing person led by Detectives Jason Grant (Caan) and Nikki Batista (Ramirez). Together with the MPU team, their job is to find the missing or kidnapped people and reunite them with their loved ones.

Jason and Nikki, once married, have a very personal connection to these cases as their own young son went missing and was never found. The emotional toll of their son's disappearance has torn apart their marriage, but although they have moved on, their bond remains.

Nikki now leads MPU, where she and the team do for others what she was unable to do herself: bring a loved one back home. At MPU, she leads a highly skilled team, including her fiancé Mike Sherman (Ryan Broussard), who Nikki met when he was assigned to guide the search for her son, Kemi Adebayo (Adeola Role), a spiritually versed detective with astonishing knowledge, and forensic anthropologist C (recurring guest star Petey Gibson).

As the second season begins, the MPU team enters their new office at headquarters, where Jason and Nikki meet their new boss Inspector Hollis Braun (Bellows), who wants to keep a close eye on the team, especially the unpredictable Jason Grant. Jason brings in his old friend to help with the case: master hacker Wayne Pascal (Ahamed), whom he worked with in Afghanistan. Jason conveniently never tells Nikki that Wayne is a woman (and a beautiful one!), which causes problems as Nikki and Mike plan their wedding. Together, the team works to find the missing or kidnapped people and help reunite them with their loved ones before it's too late.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit is a co-production of Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment. Carla Kettner is the showrunner for season two, replacing Eisendrath who was showrunner for the first season. The series is produced by Jamie Foxx, Eisendrath and Kettner.

Ahamed recently wrapped production on the upcoming CBC series Wild Cards. Previous television roles include Family Law (CA), The Good Doctor and The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Bellows is best known for his roles as Tommy in The Shawshank Redemption and Billy Thomas in Ally McBeal, and his recent work includes The Handmaid's Tale and Women of the Movement. Bellows also produced the Emmy-winning Temple Grandin/Amazon series Patriot (2017).
