Netflix is ready to debut a comedy series starring rapper Vince Staples.

The fictional series The Vince Staples Show is set in Long Beach, California and is loosely inspired by Staples' life. Here's the official logline: Who is Vince Staples? That's a difficult question. He's a bit famous, but then again not. He's a little rich, but not really. He's also something of a criminal. But he is... isn't he? Follow him on his daily adventures, where everything that can go wrong usually does.

The comedy was first announced in 2022. The Vince Staples Show, created by Staples, Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams and executive produced by Kenya Barris, premieres on Thursday, February 15.

The series is produced by Staples, Barris (Khalabo Ink Society), Corey Smyth, Edelman (Edelgang), Williams and William Stefan Smith.

Staples has released four studio albums, Summertime 06, Big Fish Theory, FM! and his self-titled album in July 2021. When the project was first announced, Netflix Head of Comedy Tracey Pakosta said: "Our mission is to work with the best artists in the world. Vince has already established himself as one of the most talented young musicians of today and we are truly excited about how his sensitivity – and sense of humor – will translate into a unique comedy series.”
