Hulu has set a premiere date for We Were the Lucky Ones, the new series based on Georgia Hunter's New York Times bestseller.



The film adaptation of the limited series is inspired by the incredible true story of a Jewish family separated at the start of World War II, determined to survive and reunite.



Joey King (The Act), Logan Lerman (Hunters (2020)), Hadas Yaron (Shtisel), Henry-Lloyd Hughes (The English Game), Amit Rahav (Unorthodox), Sam Woolf (The Crown), Michael Aloni (Shtisel) , Moran Rosenblatt (Hit and Run), Eva Feiler (Beyond Paradise), Lior Ashkenazi (Sh'at Neila/Valley of Tears) and Robin Weigert (Deadwood) star.

The series will premiere with three episodes on Thursday, March 28, followed by new episodes weekly. The streamer also revealed some first images.

The series is produced and written by Erica Lipez (Julia, The Morning Show), who also serves as showrunner. Thomas Kail (Fosse/Verdon) directs and produces alongside Jennifer Todd, who will also produce for Old 320 Sycamore. Adam Milch is executive producer and Hunter is co-executive producer. The Hulu Originals series is a production of 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios.
