Netflix is taking on the Premier League with a documentary series about one of the league's top teams, Manchester City FC.
The streaming giant has acquired the six-part documentary series Together: Treble Winners, which follows the team through their 2022-2023 championship run. The series kept the cameras rolling when star Erling Haaland arrived at the team, and through pre-season in the US, all the way through to the final weeks of the season, the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium and the first Champions League final of the club in Istanbul.
Together: Treble Winners debuts worldwide on Netflix on Tuesday, April 2 and is produced by the club's in-house production team, City Studios.
“Manchester City has an innovative and industry leading approach centred around our in- house creative and production hub, City Studios, and it is testament to the talent and hard work of the team that the latest documentary series will be released on Netflix,” said Nuria Tarre, chief marketing and dan experience officer at City Football Group, in a statement.
“The club was the first to allow cameras behind the scenes back in 2018 with All or Nothing and over the last four years we’ve had an embedded crew following our team every season to create the best, exclusive content that isn’t usually shown in football. Today’s announcement is the next step in our journey as one of the leading global sports entertainment organisations and we hope our fans and everyone around the world enjoys.

Netflix is probably the largest consumer of sports documentaries, with series about leagues, teams and players in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NASCAR, Formula 1, pro tennis and other sports. However, the Premier League has not yet been the subject of a documentary series, although one of Netflix's biggest sports documentaries last year concerned the life of legendary Manchester United star and Miami F.C. owner David Beckham.
