Starz revealed last week that the successful series Outlander will return at the end of this year with season seven, part two.

Season seven is an extra-long season with 16 episodes divided into two parts. The release of part two was postponed for about a year due to the writers' and actors' strikes. To catch up, you can currently stream every season, including the first part of season seven, via the Starz app.

Inspired by Diana Gabaldon's international bestsellers, Outlander follows Claire (CaitrĂona Balfe), a married former World War II nurse who is transported back to 1743 Scotland in 1946.

Claire discovers that her true love lived in the past, the dashing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). Each season their love story expands, with Claire occasionally traveling to the future and new characters being introduced into their story.

Last January, it was announced that the period drama had been renewed for an eighth and final 10-episode season. In addition, a ten-episode spin-off prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, was serialized.

New photos shared on social media today provide a glimpse into what fans can expect this fall.

The second part of Outlander season seven can be seen in November. A precise start date will be announced later.
