Unveiled at a Next on Netflix event in London, The Undertow is a crime noir series in which the Irish actor takes on the dual roles of identical twins Adam and Lee.
Stifled in a loveless marriage to Adam, Nicola's (Mackenzie Davis) life takes a dramatic turn when Adam's long-estranged identical twin brother Lee returns to her life and their tangled romantic past threatens to destroy the present.
The series is based on the Nordisk Film Production AS series Twin, created by Kristoffer Metcalfe. The adaptation is produced by Complete Fiction and wiip, with production starting later this year in the Scottish Highlands.
Dornan (pictured above) will be better known to Netflix subscribers lately following his role in spy thriller Heart of Stone opposite Gal Gadot, while his BBC/Stan drama The Tourist recently moved from HBO Max to Netflix in the US.
Several other programs are expected in the UK, including a new project from Matt Charman titled The Choice starring Suranne Jones.
